Things to Do

Sweater Weather & Sisterhood

Although fall is often associated with hearty, warming stews and eating too much turkey, here in Old Town Scottsdale, it is filled with fitness, fun and a few special activities happening especially for women. Before the holidays sneak up, mark the date on the calendar for quality time with the gals! Here’s a list of ideas to help get you started.

Tiny yet Mighty

If you’re new to running, how about giving it a go on November 8 at The Night Run, a 5K family-friendly, charity run along the beautiful Arizona Canal. Hosted by The Women’s Collective, this annual event supports a local non-profit with a mission to inspire and elevate women leaders. The run itself is fairly flat and walking is totally ok! So don’t be afraid…gather your girl circles of all ages and join a lovely sunset run that leads right into Canal Convergence on the Scottsdale Waterfront.

Team Milk

For those ladies ready to take running to the next level, have you registered for Every Woman’s Marathon to join Team Milk on November 16? For the first time in Scottsdale, this race navigates amazing women along a scenic course throughout Scottsdale, ending with a celebration and concert at Old Town Scottsdale’s Civic Center. If 26.2 miles isn’t for you, still come on out to Old Town and cheer on the runners!

Friends & Fiction

If Sunday mornings sound better spent reading than running and you’d much prefer to dive deep into mysteries, memoirs and more, we suggest checking out the Anticus Women’s Book Club. This casual, monthly book club will be discussing the story of “The Fox Wife” by Yangsze Choo. While there, perhaps sip a Sunday mimosa and spend the morning inside Old Town’s unique culture hot spot filled with treasures spanning from art to books.

Wellness for Women

Certainly not just for women, but definitely sounds like the perfect opportunity for good ole girl time! VH Spa inside the Hotel Valley Ho is offering a special Apple Orchard Facial through November. This relaxing treatment, filled with fall flavors like citrus, ginger, honey, spiced-chai and cinnamon-orange, is sure to leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Perfect for before AND after all that running!

PS. Don’t wait until November!

If you can’t wait until November to gather the girls together, do not fear! In October, The Women’s Art Event is taking place at The Marshall Gallery. This annual event brings together live paintings, exhibitions and opportunities to engage directly with professional artists.

Enjoy Old Town Scottsdale!
